‘Spark’ is a story which is so bland and stale and why did it get made in the first place! It is even more surprising that a competent actor such as Ashutosh Rana who made you sit up and take notice of his fine act in his last release ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ agreed to be part of something as banal as Spark, something which this film has none at all. Spark employs so many double standards and is so full of sexism that it reminds one of a saas bahu soap, and indeed, it is shot like one. There are frames whereby-standers are clearly visible looking on, smiling, giggling, and even during serious scenes and dream/day dream sequences. The editing is horrendous. Scenes have been randomly placed here and there. On the whole, Spark simply failed to ignite the flame!
