The story of the film is a blur that assumes clarity only very rarely and momentarily. The performances, on the other hand, aren't spectacular but are adequate.

Roy was supposed to be a romantic thriller but there is nothing romantic or thrilling in it! Every film has some moments you enjoy but Roy has none! The best part of the film is the music but the songs come so abruptly and are totally out of place for anyone to enjoy.

Roy is a painful trudge through acres of pretentious hollowness. Neither the two dapper leading actors nor an eager-to-please heroine in a double role can rescue the film from its inexorable downhill trundle. Recommended only if you want to use the auditorium for a relaxing catnap. Roy will not wake you up.

I don't know yeh film kaise ban gayi,' wonders Arjun Rampal in one of the most honest moments of the baffling, boring Roy.Roy is so tangled in its inflated, erratic ideas of a pseudo mystery around parallel lives and loves that it ceases to make sense even before it takes off. Mostly, though, it's just slow torture.

Who wrote this? Who is it for? The mystery and the enigma, which are set up lazily and obviously, never really take root. I haven’t seen something as fuzzy and dreary as ‘Roy’ in a long time : just what is Ranbir Kapoor doing in a movie like this?
