Mainu Ek Ladki Chaahiye, supposedly a satire, is laughable. It is a film full of dumb people who are going around acting smart. There is Yadav who seems to have strangely started believing that screwing up his face is great acting, policemen who are too dumb to even trace a man who harasses women with his mobile phone, a spectacularly daft industrialist (Yatin Karyekar) and other assorted characters who don’t deserve a mention. Half an hour into the film, you are hoping that someone puts Yadav behind bars if that would shut him up. And yes, there is also mandatory item number, a sex bomb of a maid, a half-kilo-make-up-on-her face pimp, a pair of lovebirds to prance around and more. I am sure someone came up with a 'Meinu ek film chahiye' thought, in a post chicken tikka-dinner lethargy, and this is what came out of it. Wish he had dozed off instead!
