Khamoshiyan is unique horror movie in its own sense. Sensibly honest to script, tight direction and no-nonsense chemistry between the leads marks it as a comeback movie for horror genre.

Khamoshiyan is a painstakingly boring supernatural thriller. The highlight of the film is its music. The cheap thrills – squeaky doors and flickering lights – fails to give you the creeps, and dialogues seem to be suffering from a severe 90s hangover. And yes, adding to the tagline  -- 'Silences have secrets' and empty theatres.

Khamoshiyan has pathetic plot as creaky doors and spooky apparitions get more playing time than the actors. The protagonists snub the spirit and focus on the body. Khamoshiyan makes you shiver but not in fear, It just makes you shake in embarrassment for all the ghosts and spirits.

A lonely cottage, a beautiful girl, a fresh-faced fellow, and sinister happenings, wrapped in a bunch of sufi-suffused songs. Just like the name, It does exactly what you expect.

This, ostensibly, is an “erotic thriller”. The erotica and thrills, however, are sorely missing. Most saas-bahu serials on the telly these days have racier content. Frankly speaking, there is just too much noise in ‘Khamoshiyan’.
