This Diwali release takes the top spot of movies which had great opening at the box office. The movie witnessed a smashing start at the box office grossing Rs. 40.35 crore on the opening day. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the movie featured Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher and Swara Bhaskar in pivotal roles.

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is on the second number in the list. Salman Khan was in the lead role in the flick, which had hit the right chord with the audience and collected a whopping Rs. 27.25 crore on the opening day. Salman's portrayal of innocent Hanuman bhakt “Pawan” in the film was appreciated by all, and it was one of the highest grossing films of the year. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film also featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Harshaali Malhotra and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
