Saansein: Horror and romance that fails to charm the spectators

Saansein Movie Review: Horror and Romance that fails to charm the spectators

This Friday, Saansein captures the essence of the theatres where it is played and takes it to a never-ending world of a haphazard plot which follows horror scenes gone wrong and romance that fails to impress the right amount. Directed by Rajiv S Ruia, Saansein features Sonarika Bhadoria (Shirin) and Rajneesh Duggal (Abhay) in the lead roles. Saansein is that one film which if you miss, you will not find yourself blaming yourself for not watching. Music lovers can enjoy the song tracks but then that’s about it. With a failed plot structure and unimpressive scenes, the movie is not a great hit at box office.

The story follows the life of a club singer, a hot and sexy woman named Shirin. She is pursued by many men at the club but no one could really touch her soul. The suspense starts when it is revealed that Shirin disappears each night, without anyone knowing about her whereabouts. Finally, the hero enters, Abhay, who is curious about Shirin and her life. He started to like her and pursued her till her secrets are revealed. This is a story of Abhay helping Shirin, his love, to change her life.

The plot goes on with many hits and misses. The horror scenes are not up to the expectations of the spectators. The screen play which is written by Shiraz Ahmad and Ram Patil, lacks the needed emotional energy which could have taken the movie from a miss to a hit. Thankfully, the running time for the movie is short, at only 101 minutes, with the intermission providing a much needed relief to the spectators. Apart from the plot and direction, the cast and their performances are pretty admirable. One thing which is definitely commendable is the work of the music director, Vivek Kar. After One Night Stand, Vivek has created six music tracks for the movie, Saansein, which music lovers are bound to like.
