Which movie should you watch this weekend?

Every week, Bollywood presents itself on a silver platter for its talent and skill to be judged on. Yes, we’re  talking about the weekly movie releases. But sometimes, the task of the moviegoer is made difficult by the array of choices that Bollywood lays down in front of them. That’s exactly what has happened again this week. This week, the moviegoers have numerous choices, and we want to explain to you, exactly which one, you should be watching according to your taste.

Chef

Which movie should you watch this weekend?

Chef would be Saif Ali Khan’s first anticipated movie, after a really long time. With Saif doing roles like Humshakals, Happy Ending, even his okay-ish performance in Rangoon couldn’t save his career. But, Chef shows a lot of promise, as it is the Indian adaptation of Jon Favreau’s 2014 hit Hollywood movie with the same title. Saif’s version, however, shows a very Indianised version of the narrative, as far as the trailer goes. Thus, it is a tried and tested concept, but also retains freshness.

Call For Fun

Which movie should you watch this weekend?

This is a pure adult comedy that you could go watch with your friends. Bunking college on Friday and don’t know what to do? Book a ticket for this movie. It will purely be a parody of sorts, and a storyline would only be a plus in this case. A kind of movie that promises to give you some fun inside jokes.

Tu Hai Mera Sunday

Which movie should you watch this weekend?

The movie focuses on a very important issue, that does not get picked up as much as it should. The trailer hints at a group of friends trying to find a spot to play in the city of Mumbai, which is known for being a tad bit congested. The journey helps them find a lot of things, but do they find their spot, for their Sunday? Go see for yourself on Friday.

Julie 2

Which movie should you watch this weekend?

Julie 2 is supposed to be the sequel to the 2004 film Julie. It marks the debut of Raai Laxmi in Bollywood, the lead role. The movie seems like a typical low budget adult Bollywood flick, but the most interesting thing about it is its presenter. The movie is being presented by Pahlaj Nihalani, the man who has been torturing filmmakers for even the smallest form of nudity or profanity. We wonder if Nahalani has forgotten his hypocrite ways?

Aksar 2

Which movie should you watch this weekend?

Aksar 2 is the sequel to the 2006 film Aksar, and stars Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shukla, Zareen Khan and Mohit Madaan in lead roles. The movie, shows a lot of skin, that might get some people excited, but it is also a thriller. The story can be found in bits and pieces in the trailer, and from the looks of it, it is revenge gone wrong. It might not be a winner, but it is sure to attract some sort of audience base.

So which one of these movies, do you think you’ll be catching this weekend?

  • 2017 might have been a bad year for Bollywood, considering the bad movies, and the scarce Box Office collections that the movies made. Also, the controversies surrounding the movies this year, did them more harm than good. But, there are still a few movies from 2017, that we would watch again someday.
  • We have all heard struggle stories of our favourite celebrities, some have been waiters, and some might have been junior artists. But, too many have been backup dancers. From a field that has potentially more than a million people in it, these stars shone so brightly, that they became the cream of Bollywood. These stars started their journey with dancing behind superstars and are now working with them.
  • Bollywood is filled with people, who excel at acting. But other than acting and the storyline, there is another thing that makes our films blockbusters. Dancing! Bollywood movies are filled with dancers. Some dance like they have two left feet, but some, dance like there is no tomorrow. These are the dancers, we are paying a tribute to today.
  • Madame Tussauds is a gem in the age of modern museums, and the capital has become the lucky holder of this gem. Delhiites have become a part of the lucky few, who can now visit these lifelike celebrity wax statues. But, our favourite part is the amazing resemblance, and in some cases the disparity, of these wax figurines.
  • You fall in love and vow to spend the rest of your life with each other. Such is the beauty of a marriage. The end, however, is not always as beautiful. Blame it on fame, gorgeous looks or the fact that cupid's arrows strike again and again in the glamour world, but Bollywood couples have to face the ugly truth of infidelity, divorces, and break-ups ever so often.
  • In Bollywood, there was a time, when supporting actors did not receive the appreciation they do now. They were looked at as mere pawns to make the lead look good. But times have changed, and talented artists have taken these so called side roles, and evolved them into the backbone of the films. They are now taking the limelight, and sometimes even overshadow the leads.
