Viewers kick down ‘Rangoon’ at the Box Office!

Set against the backdrop of World War II, Rangoon is a love triangle that stars Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. Even after good reviews from the viewers as well as the critics, Rangoon has had a gloomy start at the box office on the opening weekend.

With no big release ahead of the movie, Rangoon could only collect Rs. 25.53 crores on the first weekend. The film is made on quite a high budget of Rs 80 crore, and witnessing a poor collection at the box-office, we think it will be quite a task for the makers to redeem its costs. What do you have to say about it?

The film which released on 1800 screens was expected to earn a good number at the box office. Rangoon received a lot of hype prior to its release; it seems it is unable to attract the interest of the audience…right?!

Here’s the day-wise break up of Rangoon:

24 February (Friday) – Rs. 6.07 Crore

25 February (Saturday) – Rs. 7.28 Crore

26 February (Sunday) – Rs. 4.90 Crore

27 February (Monday) – Rs. 1.97 Crore

Total - Rs. 20.22 Crore

Although the lead actors of the movie have been lauded for their performances, but somehow the film has not shown tremendous progress at the box-office. This is disappointing…isn’t it!

With another weekend ahead and no big release in the industry, we hope Rangoon gears up and collects a decent amount at the box-office.

  • Alia Bhatt is the sweetheart of Bollywood. The actress is friends with everyone in the industry, and the whole film industry loves her. It could be the perks of being the amazing person she seems to be. But, she has many people that do not belong to Bollywood, or her family, that are constantly looking out for her. They are all her best friends, she has attained over her lifetime.
  • Akshay Kumar has been one actor that, even in his 50s, does not look that old. The actor has maintained a physique that no actor of his age has been able to maintain. He is fit, and the whole country takes inspiration from him. But, one thing we forget about the actor is the various looks he has kept throughout his career. So we celebrate the different styles that we have seen the actor in.
  • 2017 might have been a bad year for Bollywood, considering the bad movies, and the scarce Box Office collections that the movies made. Also, the controversies surrounding the movies this year, did them more harm than good. But, there are still a few movies from 2017, that we would watch again someday.
  • We have all heard struggle stories of our favourite celebrities, some have been waiters, and some might have been junior artists. But, too many have been backup dancers. From a field that has potentially more than a million people in it, these stars shone so brightly, that they became the cream of Bollywood. These stars started their journey with dancing behind superstars and are now working with them.
  • Bollywood is filled with people, who excel at acting. But other than acting and the storyline, there is another thing that makes our films blockbusters. Dancing! Bollywood movies are filled with dancers. Some dance like they have two left feet, but some, dance like there is no tomorrow. These are the dancers, we are paying a tribute to today.
  • Madame Tussauds is a gem in the age of modern museums, and the capital has become the lucky holder of this gem. Delhiites have become a part of the lucky few, who can now visit these lifelike celebrity wax statues. But, our favourite part is the amazing resemblance, and in some cases the disparity, of these wax figurines.
