Anushka Sharma’s Phillauri witness steady growth at the box office!

Directed by Anshai Lal, ‘Phillauri’ is a supernatural drama film which released on 24th March. Starring Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma in the lead roles, Phillauri didn’t see a great number of audience and hence made a neat box office collection of Rs. 4 Crore approx on the first day.

But, as the weekend went on, it is showing a steady growth in the collections and has reached at Rs. 15.25 Crore. Despite a super-heavy promotion, Phillauri could rope-in only a few audience. But things might change after seeing a positive growth. Also, as per the reports, Phillauri has already bypassed the cost of production through satellites and music rights by collecting a total of Rs. 12 Crore.

The Anshai Lal directed film has wowed the audience majorly because of the huge fame of Diljit Dosanjh and the new “friendly ghost” character of Anushka Sharma. Let’s look at the day-wise break up of the box office collections of Phillauri.

Friday (24th March) – Rs. 4.02 cr

Saturday (25th March) – Rs. 5.20 cr

Sunday (26th March) – Rs. 6.03 cr

Total – Rs. 15.25 cr

Now that we’re witnessing a steady growth of this new kind of a love story, let’s see how well does Phillauri manages to shine in the weekdays. Phillauri is a love story set in Phillaur (a city in Punjab) which tells a tale of a Punjabi NRI guy Kanan (Suraj) who accidentally marries Shashi, the ghost (Anushka), and there happens a lot of drama and mysteries. Amidst all of this Shashi recalls her love story with a local singer Phillauri (Diljit) and wishes to see him one last time.
