Moh Maya Money: A thoughtful story on failed scams and risks

Moh Maya Money: A thoughtful story on failed scams and risks

Directed by Munish Bhardwaj, Moh Maya Money features Ranvir Shorey, Neha Dhupia and Vidushi Mehra. The film is about an over ambitious man, Aman (Ranvir) who wants to provide all the luxuries to his loving wife Divya (Neha) who is a journalist. Ranvir Shorey does justice to his character and is a cool and ambitious risk taker. Ranvir specifically shines in scene where he gets fired from his job.

Neha Dhupia, is a star performer and has given her 110% to this role. She looks stunning portraying the role of a journalist in the film. Even after working hard, she somehow fails to express what is expected from her in some of the scenes but still manages to give her best at the time of the climax.

The first half of the movie is quite interesting and makes you curious about the things which are meant to reveal later, in the second half. All the characters in the movie are inter-connected and which add to positivity of the movie. All the actors have portrayed their role beautifully and Neha Dhupia’s has given one of her best performances so far. The film is more realistic than a dramatic one. This movie may be benefited by the demonetization rule as it also aims on black money consequences.

The movie, Moh Maya Money has been presented quite cleverly and the awesome story telling technique keeps you engaged with the suspense. The screenplay is bit poor, especially in the second half and some of the overly dramatic scenes will make you wonder...why? The cinematography is average and this no songs movie with only a decent background score gets the brownie points.

On the whole, Moh Maya Money is a one-time watch movie and the minute details in the movie are very realistic and will keep you gripped till the end.

Bollypedia Ratings – 2.5/ 5 Stars

  • 2017 might have been a bad year for Bollywood, considering the bad movies, and the scarce Box Office collections that the movies made. Also, the controversies surrounding the movies this year, did them more harm than good. But, there are still a few movies from 2017, that we would watch again someday.
  • We have all heard struggle stories of our favourite celebrities, some have been waiters, and some might have been junior artists. But, too many have been backup dancers. From a field that has potentially more than a million people in it, these stars shone so brightly, that they became the cream of Bollywood. These stars started their journey with dancing behind superstars and are now working with them.
  • Bollywood is filled with people, who excel at acting. But other than acting and the storyline, there is another thing that makes our films blockbusters. Dancing! Bollywood movies are filled with dancers. Some dance like they have two left feet, but some, dance like there is no tomorrow. These are the dancers, we are paying a tribute to today.
  • Madame Tussauds is a gem in the age of modern museums, and the capital has become the lucky holder of this gem. Delhiites have become a part of the lucky few, who can now visit these lifelike celebrity wax statues. But, our favourite part is the amazing resemblance, and in some cases the disparity, of these wax figurines.
  • You fall in love and vow to spend the rest of your life with each other. Such is the beauty of a marriage. The end, however, is not always as beautiful. Blame it on fame, gorgeous looks or the fact that cupid's arrows strike again and again in the glamour world, but Bollywood couples have to face the ugly truth of infidelity, divorces, and break-ups ever so often.
  • In Bollywood, there was a time, when supporting actors did not receive the appreciation they do now. They were looked at as mere pawns to make the lead look good. But times have changed, and talented artists have taken these so called side roles, and evolved them into the backbone of the films. They are now taking the limelight, and sometimes even overshadow the leads.
