Time to think… Time to act!
With the n-number of rape cases (reported and unreported) unfolding almost every hour in the national capital of India, New Delhi, the people are gaining awareness about this social evil. And looking into this awfully serious matter, Bollywood has taken up such topics pretty seriously by making movies on them.
One of the most successful Indian movie stars of the 90’s, Raveena Tandon is playing the lead role in the woman-centric film ‘Maatr’ wholly and solely based on the Delhi rape incidents. She is here to voice against the injustice done to the womanhood single-handedly when there is nobody to pay a heed to it. The trailer itself seems so intriguing that we can’t wait to watch the whole film now.
If you are still dicey about Maatr, read the compelling reasons to watch this thriller film and get all the clues:
Raveena Tandon’s comeback
Raveena Tandon is coming back to the silver screen (comebacks are becoming so common in Bollywood…) as Vidya Chauhan, who has always charmed her fans with her glamour and acting skills. Her role in Maatr fits in perfectly to the existing scenario in the mega-cities of India. The movie’s trailer has covered the best of Raveena and the heart-wrenching story completely justifies it. Needless to say, Raveena has come with a clear message “Woman is your equal”!
Madhur Mittal as the “Bad Boy”
Remember this guy from the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’? Yes, he is the same actor who is again back on the screen doing the role which suits him the best… “Villain”! The trailer shows him as the son of the Prime Minister and it is next to impossible to reach him. As Apurva Malik, Madhav dons the guy who has done this heinous crime and is now on the bullet mark of Vidya Chauhan.
Emotionally Triggering Subject
Every second house in India is aware of the rampant rape cases in Delhi making it one of the most unsafe places for the women in the country. Infamous for all the illegal activities and grim reality, Delhi is feared by all. ‘Maatr’ movie will trigger your emotions about a mother, who has made up her mind to seek revenge from all of them who are creating a ruckus in the society…, that they must know the difference between right and wrong. Learn to be compassionate and protect.
A Mother’s Rage
The very word “mother” is a symbol of care and undying love for family. But, she is also the face of the worst possible nightmare for those who try to harm her or her family by any means. Vidya Chauhan aka. Raveena Tandon plays the doting mother of her teenage daughter Tia, who is left in splinters with her rape and murder. She gets perplexed when the whole system is lax and no one is really there to give her justice. Left with no other option, she takes the law into her hand and wants to give the severest punishment to the rapists.
Strong Dialogue Delivery
Of course, with the two trailers released by ‘Maatr’, we can guess the gruesome and cut-throat dialogues. The film has been very well written by Michael Pellico and you will definitely get goosebumps with the dialogue delivery in the film. If you can remember, the trailer ends with a very deepening thought, "While you were watching the trailer, a girl was raped somewhere in the country. Time to think. Time to act." So, it will be a delight to not only watch a good story but also will have some very hard-hitting dialogues.
Directed by Ashtar Sayed, Maatr is releasing on this Friday i.e. 21st April. Are you eager to watch this thriller film? Share your views with us in the comments section below.
