Rustom’s race to the 100 crore club!

Rustom’s race to the 100 crore club!

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ on 12th August 2016. It was the biggest showdown in Bollywood this year. The whole industry seemed to have come together to support ‘Rustom’. From Arjun Kapoor to Ranveer Singh to Karan Johar, every star, big or small, showed support to ‘Rustom’ in his/her own way – videos, pictures, tweets etc. Whenever two big films have clashed in the past, we have seen the industry divided in its opinions and support, but never have we seen Bollywood totally supporting one and ignoring the other. While stars came out and talked about ‘Rustom’, nobody really cared about ‘Mohenjo Daro’. That’s what happened at the box office as well. People came out in hoards to watch Akshay Kumar and ignored Hrithik Roshan.

The first week for ‘Rustom’ was fabulous in terms of BO collection. This makes ‘Rustom’ biggest first week earner of Akshay Kumar.

Friday (12th August) – Rs 14.11 cr

Saturday – Rs 16.43 cr
