And everyone must be waiting with bated breath to know who wins the box office battle. And guess who wins?

After much wait, the official numbers are out at the box office, and ‘Rustom’ is a clear winner. The flick has collected Rs 14.11 crore, thereby becoming the 4th highest opener of the year. On the other hand, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ has garnered just half amount as ‘Rustom’. Its first day collection stands out to be Rs 8.87 crore.

‘Rustom’ is Akshay Kumar’s third film of 2016 and ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is Hrithik Roshan’s first film in two years. The budget of the films varies widely. ‘Rustom’ was made at the cost of around Rs. 50 crore while ‘Mohenjo Daro’s’ budget is almost double. And add a sum of around 10 to 15 crore per film for promotions.

It seems like the makers of ‘MohenjoDaro’ will have to suffer a great loss if this collection doesn’t go up in the upcoming days.

Luckily, thanks to the Independence Day falling on Monday, both films get the benefit of an extended holiday weekend and will end up earning better in the process.
