Dilwale’s star power made it gather Rs.65.09 at the first weekend!

One of the biggest clashes of Bollywood was witnessed this Friday when Shahrukh Khan's ‘Dilwale’ went head to head with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ‘Bajirao Mastani’, starring Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh!

The first weekend is over and the verdict is out. While both films have managed to do decent business at the box office, one has expectedly taken the lead and that is none other than ‘Dilwale’!

With the box office result, we now know that SRK's 'Dilwale' is sure shot winner which has collected Rs. 65.09 crore in the first weekend of its release.

Dilwale’s star power made it gather Rs.65.09 at the first weekend!

What favoured the film the most is its star power, and we are not surprised with the results! Having the magical pairing of SRK-Kajol and Varun Dhawan in tow, Dilwale could have never gone wrong!

Although ‘Dilwale’ received average to negative reviews by most critics, the film managed to put up a great show at the ticket counters!

It is a flick that caters to the family audience and received “thumbs up” from them. Despite the huge backlash it is facing in some key centres, the film managed to cross the Rs 20 crore mark consistently. While it netted around Rs 21 crore on its first day, it added another Rs 20.09 crore on Saturday. The film had a huge growth on Sunday and collected around Rs 24 crore on Sunday. With that, the opening weekend collection stands at Rs 65.09 crore, which is more than good for the film. But unlike other big films, this one couldn't perform that well, courtesy the division of screens and the big clash that ensued. Nevertheless, ‘Dilwale’ is already in safe waters, whereas ‘Bajirao Mastani’ will now have to buckle up!
