Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Akhtar decide to part ways after 16 years of marriage!

Another fairytale romance of Bollywood comes to an end as one of the best and Stylish couples, Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Akhtar have decided to call off their 16-year-old marriage!

Rumours of their separation have been doing the rounds for quite some time and now the couple has announced about their separation.

Farhan Akhtar recently released a statement to the media saying "This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they are protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner."

While there has been buzz about the couple’s split, sources close to the Akhtars maintain that the couple grew apart over the years. Though there were reports about problems between the couple for long now, things became obvious when Adhuna was missing from close friend Hrithik Roshan’s birthday bash. Apart from this incident, the Wazir actor was also spotted solo at the Dabboo Ratnani calendar launch a few days ago.

Farhan and Adhuna have been known as one of the hottest couples of Bollywood. The two dated for three years after which they got married in 2000. The couple first met when the filmmaker turned actor was working on his Bollywood debut Dil Chahta Hai. Adhuna and Farhan are blessed with two daughters – Shakya and Akira.
