Dongri Ka Raja has nothing new to offer

Dongri Ka Raja has nothing new to offer

Dongri Ka Raja is a movie showing the hub of underworld activities in Mumbai. Raja (Gashmeer Mahajani) is the son of Dongri’s feared Don Mansoor Ali (Ronit Roy). The impersonated police officer (Ashmit Patel) is on the hunt for Raja who is using his name and killing his enemies at will.

Mansoor Ali is the uncrowned ruler of Dongri, and his main enforcer is his adopted son Raja. Raja has been picked off the streets at a young age and brought up by Mansoor and his loving wife (Ashwini Kalsekar). Raja falls in love with the girl named Shruti and she becomes his weakness. The story of the movie is not very pleasing but the performances by Ronit Roy and Gashmeer Mahajani seem pretty good. Dongri Ka Raja is a typical gangster movie and the pace of the movie is decent enough and has some twists which may surprise you.

The movie and the direction focuses on the love birds. Everybody’s main aim is to make the lovebirds meet. But, the romance part completely lacks in the movie. The movie will only impress audiences because it has Ronit Roy in it. All the other actors and components add to the shabbiness of the movie. On the whole, a complete miss from our end.

  • You fall in love and vow to spend the rest of your life with each other. Such is the beauty of a marriage. The end, however, is not always as beautiful. • In Bollywood, there was a time, when supporting actors did not receive the appreciation they do now. They were looked at as mere pawns to make the lead look good. But times have changed, and talented artists have taken these so called side roles, and evolved them into the backbone of the films. They are now taking the limelight, and sometimes even overshadow the leads.
  • Unlike popular belief, there have been a large number of celebrities who broke the ‘Career is finished after marriage’ taboo and came out shining like true stars only after they got married. Some turned out to be the major superstars of the country, whereas some struggled to leave an impact on the industry, but the one thing that all of them have in common is that they were married before they set their foot on the silver screen.
  • Whenever a celebrity does something whether good or bad, extraordinary or mundane, the news always manages to make its way to the headlines. The frenzy around Indian celebrities who became politicians is therefore justified. And when the theme is women-centric, it’s even better.
