Dear Zindagi: A magical movie with life lessons

Plot

This Friday, it’s all about MAGIC! Directed by Gauri Shinde, Dear Zindagi features Alia Bhatt (Kiara) and Shahrukh Khan (Jehangir) in the lead roles. Dear Zindagi is that one fresh film which stands out of all in Bollywood. Alia Bhatt plays the main protagonist in the movie and shows how great and talented as an actor she is. Alia’s extraordinary performance just melts our hearts. Dear Zindagi is a life time experience and Gauri Shinde’s story telling works yet again! Each and every actor in the film nail their respective roles! Shahrukh Khan undoubtedly is the soul of the movie until the very end.

The script of the movie is simple and has a very meaningful subject. Dear Zindagi is the kind of movie which offers an important message that happiness is all about finding comfort in life's imperfections. The movie is all about Alia Bhatt and she has done justice to her role. The first half of the movie is bit outstretched but the funny and clever one-liners keep you gripped. Alia in the movie romances Kunal, Angad and Ali and is shattered after her broken relationships. Alia Bhatt is shown as a talented cinematographer who is jumbled-up in her past relationships and seeks help from SRK who is a therapist (Dimaag Ka Doctor). Alia understands the magic of life only when meets SRK (Jehangir or Jug) and both of them share an extremely effortless relationship. The movie has a soul-searching theme and Shahrukh Khan does justice to it.

Direction

This Gauri Shinde’s directorial celebrates the imperfections of our lives in a most beautiful way. Shahrukh has been seen in a new avatar after so many years and he is actually the soul of the movie till the end. Dear Zindagi is the most engaging film we’ve seen in the past few months. This sensitive and heart whelming movie will make you laugh, cry and feel every moment of it beautifully. The movie belongs to Alia Bhatt on the whole; she is the one who takes our heart away with her amazing performance and charm. Shahrukh Khan on the other hand steps out of his comfort zone and delivers a serious, mature, and a riveting performance.

Gauri Shinde is such an amazing director and her direction and storytelling technique does wonders. Gauri Shinde, just take a bow for this simplistic charm of film making. The screenplay, the cinematography is simply superb and the entire movie has been shot nicely in the beautiful locales of Goa.

Music

The music album of the movie, Dear Zindagi consists of 8 songs in total. The music has been composed by Amit Trivedi and he weaves magic through his tunes always. Kausar Munir, has written some sensible and relatable songs that automatically gets some space at the back of your mind. The album of the movie Dear Zindagi is a very poetic one and hits the right chords of our heart.

Bollypedia Ratings - 3/ 5 Stars

  • You fall in love and vow to spend the rest of your life with each other. Such is the beauty of a marriage. The end, however, is not always as beautiful. Blame it on fame, gorgeous looks or the fact that cupid's arrows strike again and again in the glamour world, but Bollywood couples have to face the ugly truth of infidelity, divorces, and break-ups ever so often.
  • In Bollywood, there was a time, when supporting actors did not receive the appreciation they do now. They were looked at as mere pawns to make the lead look good. But times have changed, and talented artists have taken these so called side roles, and evolved them into the backbone of the films. They are now taking the limelight, and sometimes even overshadow the leads.
  • Unlike popular belief, there have been a large number of celebrities who broke the ‘Career is finished after marriage’ taboo and came out shining like true stars only after they got married. Some turned out to be the major superstars of the country, whereas some struggled to leave an impact on the industry, but the one thing that all of them have in common is that they were married before they set their foot on the silver screen.
  • Whenever a celebrity does something whether good or bad, extraordinary or mundane, the news always manages to make its way to the headlines. The frenzy around Indian celebrities who became politicians is therefore justified. And when the theme is women-centric, it’s even better.
  • We all know actors who are also singers seem to be the latest trend in B-town. And you must be aware there are quite a few of them, but we have news for you! First, this trend is not new-found and secondly there are many celebrities who possess this talent. Shocked aren’t you?
  • Having a legal notice attached to one’s image is not good for any individual, but when you are a star, it is even worse, as every star has a brand name to maintain and landing up in trouble due to such unforeseen circumstances is nothing short of a controversy! Here is a list of top Bollywood stars who went to jail.
