Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial biopic Dangal takes a milestone jump on day 13th and has domestically collected Rs. 304.64* crore in total, yesterday. Aamir Khan’s powerful performance as Mahavir Singh Phogat has made Dangal one of the biggest hits in the Indian cinema. The movie has actually created a history as no other film could catch the 300 crore mark with such a speed. So clearly, Dangal has made a new record with this.
Although, Dangal would be Aamir Khan’s second triple century post PK (2014) which grossed a total of Rs. 340.8 crore, but now we are waiting for Aamir to hit the quadruple century and set a new benchmark for everyone in Bollywood. Needless to say, Dangal is the highest grossing movie of the year 2016.
In the Bollywood history, we have witnessed only four movies in the 300 Crore Club viz. PK (340 crores), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (321 crore), Sultan (301.5 crore) and now Dangal (304.64 crore-and still counting).
