Starring the action hero Vidyut Jammwal, ‘Commando 2: The Black Money Trail' released on 3rd March (Friday) and collected Rs. 13.25 Crore over the first weekend. On Tuesday, ‘Commando 2’ could only rake-in only Rs. 1.93 Crore which isn’t a good number at all.
According to the reports with the current box office trend of this action-packed film, the film makers will have a tough time to even come at par with their overall cost estimate as well. Directed by the debutante Bollywood director Deven Bhojani, the film lacked originality and a compelling script. Have a look at its day-wise box office break up:
Day 1 (Friday) – Rs. 5.14 Crore
Day 2 (Saturday) – Rs. 5.75 Crore
Day 3 (Sunday) – Rs. 6.60 Crore
Day 4 (Monday) – Rs. 2.48 Crore
Day 5 (Tuesday) – Rs. 1.93 Crore
Total Box Office – Rs. 19.92 Crore
Since there a been an average collection on Monday and Tuesday, it is estimated that the film would collect a fair amount of Rs. 23-25 Crore at the box office this week. If we talk about the movie altogether, Vidyut Jammwal’s superb action has already won millions of hearts and he has done it yet again in the sequel. What’s interesting to see is that, this week Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ may shake Commando 2 in a big way and decrease its shelf life. What do you have to say about this?
