India’s first celebrity expedition to the Siachen Glacier

In April 1981, Indian Army made history by traversing the uncharted Siachen, also known as the Third Pole. It also happens to be the second longest glacier in the world. On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of this daring expedition, Eros Now, announced an initiative, Salute Saichen, India’s first-ever celebrity expedition to the Siachen Glacier. From film and TV actors to models and sportspersons, celebrities from different walks of life came together for the trek to the glacier. The twenty-day expedition started on 15th August 2016 from Leh and culminated at Kumar Post. Colonel Narinder “Bull” Kumar hoisted the Indian flag on Siachen Glacier in 1981 and became the first person to scale the uncharted Siachen.

 

The celebrities who participated in this groundbreaking initiative took to social media and were constantly updating their fans of their expedition. And from the look of it, they seemed to have enjoyed their time.
