‘Befikre’ slays Box Office on the first day

Ranveer Singh’s superb flamboyance and director Aditya Chopra’s comeback after many years is making it large for ‘Befikre’. The records show that Befikre has crossed the double digits and has earned Rs. 10.36 crores. It bagged maximum responses from the multiplexes.According to one of the movie expert, “Befikre has released in nearly 2200 screens, off which 850 screens are single screens. The remaining are from multiplexes and you know that multiplexes get in a large amount of collection.”

It is said that Befikre’s day 1 box office earning is the 9th highest opening of 2016; and it will increase rapidly. During the morning shows itself, ‘Befikre’ managed to have around 40-45% seats booked and around 50-60% occupancies in the evening shows in all the major cities. Also, most of the multiplexes and the single screens witnessed houseful night shows.

If we see the number-crunching of the film, the budget of Befikre was Rs. 55 crores. The advertisements and various promotions (online and offline) costed around Rs. 15 crores. So, the total budget goes to Rs. 70 crores. Looking at the number of occupancy and the pre-collections, they are already earning profits. Let’s see if it crosses the 100 core club!

Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s ‘Befikre’ is a free-spirited rom-com which explains a basic phenomenon of living carefree no matter what.This genre, per say, is a bit tough to hit the box office, but, Ranveer Singh can easily penetrate our pockets for that, isn’t it?
