Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Salman Khan breaks boundaries to bring you close to humanity!

Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been released and it’s a must watch. Harshaali Malhotra as ‘Munni’ will melt your heart, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as ‘Chand Nawaz’, a Pakistani reporter will blow your mind with his acting skills. Kareena Kapoor plays her part as Salman Khan’s love interest ‘Rasika’ with élan.

The story of Bajrangi Bhaijaan is very simple. The movie doesn’t deviate from the main plot, which is to ensure the safe return of the little Pakistani girl ‘Munni’, who’s mute and finds empathy from Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi (Salman Khan).

Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi (Salman Khan) is an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman. He takes his religious principals very seriously and follows the path of truthfulness. He strictly follows a vegetarian diet and all religious rituals. He’s fondly called ‘Bajrangi’. The simple ‘Bajrangi’ lands in his father’s friend, Digambar's (Sharat Saxena) home in Delhi.

Once in Delhi, Pawan meets Rasika (Kareena Kapoor) and as expected love blossoms. Kareena does justice to her role. While in Delhi, Pawan has a chance encounter with Munni (Harshaali Malhotra), a young mute girl, who’s lost and has no idea about her parents. Pawan decides to help her and takes her with him, only to realise that Munni is a Mohammedan and a Pakistani.

Pawan keeps his religious beliefs aside and decides to take Munni back to her home without a VISA or a Passport. The journey of Pawan and Munni begins, they go through the picturesque Kashmir valley and reach Pakistan where he’s mistaken to be an Indian spy. He meets a local reporter Chand Nawaz (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who decides to help him.

The three set out to find Munni’s real identity and her parents and her home.

The movie gives very powerful message in the most subtle way possible. Salman Khan manages to convey the message of humanity and takes the secularist view to another level. Humanity triumphs over all religions and boundaries. Kudos to Kabir Khan for touching upon a sensitive topic of religion and emerging as a hero! After a long time, Pakistan has not been shown in a bad light, probably the reason why Pakistani censor board passed the movie and also praised Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The movie has been shot in the most beautiful locations of Kashmir and Pakistan, reminding us of the scenic beauty our country holds despite the looming terror in those regions. The movie has its loopholes but at the end, one can easily over look all the shortcomings because this movie is not just for the ardent Salman Khan fans, this is a movie with a message of humanity for everyone.

Harshaali Malhotra deserves a standing ovation for her performance in the movie. The little girl has no dialogues in the movie and yet manages to connect a cord with the audience so deep that you’ll laugh when she laughs and cry when she cries. Salman Khan too has brought the best of him in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and what can we possibly say about Nawazuddin Siddiqui? The man is brilliant with his impeccable comic timing and class act in serious scenes.

All in all Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a must watch for Salman Khan, for the story line, for the brilliant acting and most of all for the larger than life message!

But times have changed, and talented artists have taken these so called side roles, and evolved them into the backbone of the films. They are now taking the limelight, and sometimes even overshadow the leads.
  • Unlike popular belief, there have been a large number of celebrities who broke the ‘Career is finished after marriage’ taboo and came out shining like true stars only after they got married. • Whenever a celebrity does something whether good or bad, extraordinary or mundane, the news always manages to make its way to the headlines. The frenzy around Indian celebrities who became politicians is therefore justified. And when the theme is women-centric, it’s even better.
