ADHM shines at the box office on the Diwali weekend

 

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the unrequited love story directed by Karan Johar released last Friday and it seems Ranbir’s magic has won the hearts of millions of people. The movie became one of the highest openers of 2016, with a total collection of Rs 35.60 cr in India.

The movie opened to Rs 13.30 cr on Friday and saw a collection of upto Rs 13.10 cr on Saturday. It maintained its pace on the Diwali day and made a sum of Rs 9.20 cr on Sunday. The total collection of the movie summed up to Rs. 35.60 cr. Talking about the overseas collection of ADHM, the movie collected a total of Rs 41.05 cr on its opening weekend, highest opening weekend for Karan Johar and Ranbir.

It seems like the Diwali weekend has benefited the makers of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ leaving behind ‘Shivaay’ which also released on October 28’ 2016. Though, both the films were benefited by the extended weekend but ADHM ended up earning more.

Also, the controversies surrounding the movies this year, did them more harm than good. But, there are still a few movies from 2017, that we would watch again someday.
